I lived in Clarke County for 14 years and currently live in Purcellville. I love Clarke County and have raised my two daughters, ages 19 & 15 here. My own daughters went through Boyce Elementary. Clarke is a wonderful community! After staying home with my daughters for 10 years I went back to school to become a teacher. I knew I wanted to teach in Clarke because of the sense of community and family-like atmosphere that are here are very important to me. I began as a Reading Instructional Assistant working closely with the Reading Specialist and the other assistants at Boyce Elementary. I learned so much from that position and from going into so many great classrooms, supporting so many wonderful teachers in their reading classes. Now I love being a 2nd grade teacher. I think it’s the perfect fit for me. This is my fifth year as a 2nd grade teacher, my first four years being at Boyce Elementary. I have a background as a preschool teacher from many years ago which adds to my experience working with children and parents. I have a strong sense that our classroom is a family community.

I’m originally from Connecticut and have been living in Virginia for 10 years now. I’m married and have one child, Julia, who is in the third grade. I have a Bachelor of Science in animal/veterinary science from the University of Maine. I worked as a veterinary technician for 10 years before returning to school to earn my Master’s in education. This is my third year working in Clarke county as a second grade teacher. Previously, I worked in Warren county for 7 years as a reading teacher. I absolutely love reading and teaching kids how to read!

I am a native Clarke County girl and now reside in Winchester. I'm a mom of two wonderful kids, Karlee and Brock. My husband, Mr. Wymer, teaches P.E. at DG Cooley. I earned my bachelor’s degree from Shepherd University in Elementary Education and my master’s degree from the University of Virginia as a Mathematics Specialist. This is my 14th year teaching, and I am lucky enough to have only taught in Clarke County. I've taught four years in Kindergarten, three years in 3rd grade, five years in 4th grade, and this is my second year in 2nd grade. I believe that all children have a natural curiosity for learning. I will nurture their learning by encouraging, inspiring, and empowering each student.
